VIAGS successfully completes phase 1 of process to meet ISAGO international standard

Following the VIAGS’s plan and targets on setting up the quality assurance system for ground services which determined in the first day of establishment, VIAGS became one of the first companies in Vietnamairlines group to achieve ISO 9001 - 2015 quality management systems standard in November 2016; and successfully met the Aviation Security Regulation under Circular 1/2016 / TT-BGTVT in December 2016.

Overview of ISAGO certification process for VIAGS’s headquarter 

On June 22 and 23, 2017, VIAGS excellently passed the first phase of the ISAGO certification process by Aviation Quality Services (AQS), a subsidiary of Germany's Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH.

Speaking at a closing online meeting, Mr. Christian Abrecht, AQS’s Chief Evaluator, who has spent 13 years at AQS as chief evaluator and 25 years in senior management positions in the aviation sector, highly valued the VIAGS management system compared with similar organizations operated in the sector that he participated in the evaluation. “VIAGS is a leading ground services company in Vietnam and has great potential to supply ground services to global market,” he believed.

An overview of the VIAGS online meeting 

To achieve the proud result that VIAGS ensured the safety of the ground services process, the company’s personnel have made great efforts to implement the programs and activities under the preparedness plan to evaluate ISAGO standard for more than four months, which scheduled for the beginning of 2016.

Since February 2017, VIAGS has conducted training activities to update knowledge, reviewed SQMS (quality management system) documents in the whole company.  Till May, the company conducted an internal assessment. This evaluation result is a worthy reward for the efforts of the entire VIAGS system over the past time.

Let's count down the time to wait for the second phase of the ISAGO certification process for VIAGS system scheduled to conduct at VIAGS’s branches in the next July.

ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) is a system for ensuring safety standards in ground operations, accredited and certified by IATA (International Air Transport Association). The standard aimed to minimize the risks and reduce costs for airlines. According to the world development trend, ISAGO has become a prerequisite for all cooperation in the ground handling field.
