A CLOSE-UP ON THE SERVICE OF THE FIRST BATCH OF COVID-19 VACCINES AT TAN SON NHAT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

After landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the first batch of Covid-19 vaccine was received by the Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS) and Tan Son Nhat Cargo Services Joint Stock Company (TCS) - member units of Vietnam Airlines. The first batch then safely be served and gathered at frozen storage.

Due to the temperature sensitivity and the stringent shipping process requirements of the vaccine, VIAGS and TCS have been actively researching since the end of 2020, preparing the infrastructure, equipment and training high quality human resources to serve this special goods. The key objective is to safely transport the shipment into a special storage facility of TCS in the shortest time. Actual service has been carried out successfully and obtained the set objectives.

With high quality human resources, modern equipment and many years of experience in serving goods, VIAGS and TCS have shown the capacity and readiness to handle, receive and transport the first batch of Covid vaccines-19 of Vietnam by the different member units of Vietnam Airlines when received  mission officially assigned by the authorities.

The vaccine is stored in a frozen container. This is particularly important condition in transporting COVID-19 vaccines as the vaccines require low storage temperatures. The shipment was taken out of the plane by VIAGS using specialized forklift at 11:10 am.


Before being put into the frozen storage of TCS, all ramp staffs and the shipment were completely pray disinfection at 11:15 AM. This procedure is in compliance with the disease prevention regulations of the authorities.

Since being unloaded from the aircraft, the shipment is accompanied by the dashcam, TCS staff checks, takes pictures, records the condition of the container (include battery percentage, temperature) shown on the container every 03 hours / time until handing over to customers. The consignment is stored in a special area which is under the supervision of TCS 24/7 security camera system.

The shipment of vaccine is stored in a special heat-keeping container provided by the carrier. However, to ensure the absolute safety, TCS actively collected information from customers many weeks ago, preparing a backup frozen storage that fully meets all storage standards for the shipment of this first Covid-19 vaccine.
